When Clayton County was still a quiet suburb, the firm was founded in 1977 when Larry A. Foster joined the firm of Hutchison, Kilpatrick, Watson, Crumbley, and Brown. Don R. Foster joined the firm in 1979, which was then known as Watson, Brown, Foster, and Murphy. The firm became Foster & Foster, P.C., with the two Foster brothers working as partners in 1988. Travis W. Smith joined the firm in 2004 after graduating from Emory University School of Law. Aaron K. McCullough joined the firm as an Associate in 2014. The firm officially changed its name to Foster, Foster, & Smith, LLC in 2016. In 2019, Blake W. Meadows joined the firm as an Associate and the firm changed its name to Foster & Smith, LLC. In 2020, Zach Eyster joined the firm, opening up our practice to business agreements, brand management, and trademarks. Our team has grown and become even more specialized to accommodate the growing needs of Clayton County.

Although the name has changed over the years, the core of Foster & Smith has remained consistent. We are a practice dedicated to giving our clients custom-built care. Regardless of the type of service needed, we always share our honest opinion and seek to help our clients reach their desired outcome. Through honesty, hard work, and legal ingenuity, our team delivers high quality representation, even to smaller communities.

Managing Partner

Travis W. Smith has been the Managing Attorney at Foster & Smith since 2016. He served as an Associate Attorney (2004-2011) before becoming a Partner (2012-present). Travis was admitted to practice in the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, Northern District of Georgia, Georgia Supreme Court, Georgia Court of Appeals, and Georgia County Courts. He studied at Harding University and received his B. A. in History, Social Science, and Vocational Ministry as well as his B. S. from the Honors College in American Studies. Afterwards, he enrolled at Emory University of Law and earned his Doctor of Law in 2004.

Daily, Travis oversees all operations of the firm, including county and city tax work, county litigation, business law, estate planning, and land bank work. The interpersonal aspects of the job are his favorite part of the work. He enjoys working with his team to come up with beneficial and creative solutions for their clients.

Travis resides in Hampton with his wife and three children. He actively invests in his church and community, including being a Preaching Minister at Griffin Church of Christ and serving on the Board of the Good Shepherd Clinic, a health clinic offering free medical services to uninsured citizens in Clayton County.
